Parking
Arriving by car isn't always easiest
City Centre
As we are located in the city centre, parking isn’t always easy. Unfortunately, we have no spaces available ourselves, so you must find street parking, or a parking station. Please note that the parking inspectors in Edinburgh are thorough plentiful, and prompt. Do Not under any circumstances test them! Do not park anywhere where there are yellow lines painted on the side of the road, between 7am and 7pm. Outside of those hours you should be safe (but its at your own risk!) There is meter parking near the hostel, but your best bet is to find a parking station. Here are some options. Please note that these prices are a guide only. The parking stations may change their prices at anytime. There are many more parking stations, these are just a couple of options.
Greenside Undercover Parking
Greenside (Undercover) This is located by going past us along Princes St, then, at the roundabout, go right around and come back towards us. Turn left into Greenside Place. The parking station is well signposted. Their charges are as follows... Up to 2 hours £1.20 2-3 hours £1.90 3-4 hours £2.90 4-5 hours £4.20 5-7 hours £7.30 7-9 hours £10.50 9-24 hours £13.00 Special prices for entry after 6pm 6pm-midnight £1.20 6pm -9am £1.90 To get to us from the parking station, just take the lift to Princes St, then turn left, and walk towards the Burger King, which we are behind.
New Street Park (Not Undercover)
This is 24 hour machine pay parking, To get there, On Princes St, turn right onto Northbridge, at the corner where Burger King and the Balmoral Hotel are. Then take the first left onto the High Street (The Royal Mile). New street is on the left, off the High Street. The Prices are Up to 2 hours £1.00 3 £1.50 4 £2.00 5 £3.80 13 £4.00 18 hours £6.00 24 hours £12.00 Special prices for entry after 6pm After 6pm-midnight £1.00 Midnight-6am £1.50 To get to the hostel, just follow the signs to Princes St, through the Train Station, then you will see the Burger King, which we are directly behind All of these options should take less than 10 minutes to walk (probably more like 2-5 minutes depending on how big your backpack is!) When you reach our doorway, then head up the stairs. We are on the top floor.
