Why are we here?
Whilst anyone is welcome, Princes St Backpackers is aimed primarily at backpackers in the 18-30 age group. We have a tendency to want to have a good time. Thats why we are here, halfway across the world. We are not a hotel, we are not a bed and breakfast. People sometimes come because its the cheapest accomodation in Edinburgh, then they complain about everything. If you want to stay in a quiet, luxurious hotel, then please go to a hotel.
We do have limits, though.
Whilst we try to keep rules down to a minimum, there are of course some we have to enforce. First, we kindly ask our guests not to go around trashing the place and breaking everything. At night, we will often ask people to be a bit quieter, or to go into a common room, where they can make noise.
Regulations
We have to comply with some strict fire regulations. We must keep the fire exits clean and clear, and all the fire doors closed.
Smoking
As of March the 26th 2006, smoking has been banned inside all public areas throught Scotland, including our hostel.
Drugs
Sorry, but whether or not we agree with the law, we must abide by it. NO DRUGS are permitted in the hostel at anytime.
